The e-Learning for Strengthening Higher Education Project (e-SHE) has made fast progress towards achieving the infrastructure thematic area goals set forth. The project team has witnessed the successful installation and commissioning of the Multimedia Studios at Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa, Hawassa and Jimma Universities, marking a significant milestone in the mission to enhance educational resources across Ethiopia.
The Addis Ababa University President Dr. Samule Kifle, Hawassa University President Dr. Ayano Berasso, Jimma University President Dr. Jemal Abafita and Dire Dawa University Academic Vice President Dr. Megersa Kasim, have visited the new multimedia studios established in their respective campuses. With four installations completed and only one more to go, this momentum continues as the e-SHE project prepares to finalize the studio at Bahirdar University in the upcoming week.
One of the e-SHE Partnership’s primary intervention areas is the construction of state-of-the-art multimedia studios, which will be essential for producing high-quality digital content to introduce e-learning in Ethiopia’s public universities. The Partnership has been undertaking the construction of five multimedia studios at the five resource center universities. Once completed, these multimedia resource centers will provide services to the host and other cluster universities until each establishes a center of its own. They are also meant to serve as prototypes for future multimedia studio investments by the Ministry of Education, universities, and partner organizations.
