The e-Learning for Strengthening Higher Education (e-SHE) Program marked a momentous occasion on Monday, March 4, 2024, by inaugurating five state-of-the-art multimedia studios across five resource center universities. The event, a harmonious blend of physical and virtual presence, showcased the culmination of the e-SHE team’s efforts in advancing educational infrastructure.
Located within Addis Ababa, Bahirdar, Dire Dawa, Hawassa, and Jimma University campuses, these state-of-the-art studios promise to revolutionize digital content creation in the higher education landscape. Attended by esteemed partners and dignitaries and members of the media, the inauguration ceremony at AAU’s 6-kilo campus was a testament to the collaborative spirit driving e-SHE forward.
While physical attendees immersed themselves in the festivities at AAU, the virtual sphere hosted the inauguration ceremonies for the remaining four universities. Presidents, academic vice presidents, and esteemed guests from each institution convened online to celebrate this transformative milestone.
Dr. Solomon Abraha, Administrative and Infrastructure CEO at the Ministry of Education, Samuel Yalew, Country Director for Ethiopia at the Mastercard Foundation, university leaders, and Yeukai Mlambo, Executive Director of the African Initiative at Arizona State University, delivered compelling speeches underscoring the profound impact of e-SHE and the significance of these multimedia studios in shaping the future of higher education.
This momentous event marks a stride forward in e-SHE’s mission to empower universities, enabling them to produce exceptional digital content and extending support to additional cluster member universities on their transformative journey towards utilizing the five-multimedia studious in the resource center universities.
