We are excited to announce that the Higher Education Institutions’ Electronic Learning Implementation Directive has been approved by the Ministry of Education and is registered by the Federal Attorney General, Ministry of Justice.
This directive was developed by experts from the Ministry of Education and e-SHE, based on the recently approved e-Learning Policy and e-Learning Implementation Guideline, to ensure their effective implementation. It was also made available for public review, allowing end-user representatives to provide feedback, which was carefully incorporated. Following a thorough review and feedback process by the Federal Attorney General, the directive has now been approved and is ready for implementation.
Covering key topics such as the governance structure of electronic learning administration in higher education institutions, the rights and obligations of students and instructors, and incentive mechanisms, the directive translates the policy into actionable steps. With its approval, the sustainability of e-learning is reinforced through standardized implementation and improved compliance.
The e-Learning for Strengthening Higher Education (e-SHE) is a multistakeholder initiative owned by the MoE, intended to boost the relevance, quality, access, and resilience of higher education in Ethiopia.
